The multi-story urban timber construction has established itself as a future-oriented construction method for several years: From London to Stockholm, from Vancouver to Melbourne, wooden buildings with up to 20 storys are currently being built. This rapid development was made possible by system construction as well as adapted fire protection regulations. In addition, there is the impeccable CO2 balance of the material, which is often available regionally. This publication explains the different types of construction such as solid wood frame construction, hybrid wood / concrete or wood / steel constructions or constructions made of glued laminated timber panels and then documents the diversity of this material on the basis of 13 built examples. The structure and detailing of the buildings show specially created construction drawings.
